The Other Side of the Tracks

So often in life we take the easy path, the one we are most familiar with, and in doing so we miss an opportunity to take a new road and enjoy new sights, sounds and smells. Walking my humans is sometimes like this. We get into the habit of going to the same places and after a while, it’s a little boring. For mummy, daddy and especially ME!

However, today mummy decided to take a new path. Instead of going to one of our usual dog parks, we drove my car a little further and parked up across the water, directly opposite the park. I couldn’t believe we were going to a new place! There were so many new smells and they were so delicious that I could almost taste them. Yummmmmm!

We explored the new path for quite a while, following it as it meandered along by the bay. Even though I wasn’t allowed in the water, it was still a wonderful journey. We even stopped a while to enjoy the view of Mt. Tam.

I had heard that it isn’t the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Or that it’s not as nice on the other side of the tracks. Well, mummy and I trod some new tracks today and no matter which side of them I sat on, they were pretty great!
